10. Open Discussion Topics a. Need to advertise this club
to be successful and gain new members. Ideas to get the word out included car stickers, hats, jackets, fliers, shirts, website,
and of course word of mouth. Ken Sloan is going to look into the cost of these items. There is also a preliminary brochure
which you can see and print off from the jocasseetroutclub.org website. Everyone is encouraged to get this out anywhere and
everywhere they can to advertise (i.e. local papers, friends, family, sporting goods stores..etc). Please make sure that you
use a brochure with the new meeting date of Tuesday, June 28th. Zan Maddox was suggested as a potential resource to create
a permanent brochure for the club. b. Jim Mayer has the clubs support in talking to DNR and Dan Rankin to see if they are
interested in participating and to get feedback on how we can help them. c. Trout Tagging may be needed to gather data
about the fishery and provide feedback to DNR. We would need to produce an internal database and develop our own tags to be
most effective. Ken Sloan offered Jocassee Outdoor Center to be a hub for this activity if launched off. d. Could possibly
have a benefit trout tournament to raise revenue for the club e. Recommendation for the JTC (Jocassee Trout Club) to purchase
a few fish bags for tournaments to help with catch and release efforts.
11. Next Meeting was scheduled to be June 21st but was moved to June 28th as the location was not
available. The meeting will still be at Fatz and will start at 7pm and end no later than 9pm.
