The President, Jim Mayer, presided and gave an invocation.

The minutes of the May meeting were approved as previously posted.

The Treasurer reported that the Club had received $285.00 for memberships, and had a $20.00 withdrawal for check fee, resulting in a current balance of $265.00 as of June 27, 2005.

The first item of business discussed was preparation of a questionnaire to be completed by new members.  The group opted for a simple basic questionnaire with several optional questions.  Bryan Lee is to propose the exact form and email the Board Members with his proposal.

Sam Jones discussed the website.  He recommended that we remove our website from his Anytime Fishing server and spend $79.99 per year to have our own server.  This suggestion was approved unanimously.

Sam Jones further stated that he would prepare a basic membership form which could be printed from the website by prospective members and forwarded to the secretary.

Zan Maddox agreed to begin work on a logo and expects to have this logo completed prior to our next meeting.

Larry Essick reported on his previous experience with tagging trout in Jocassee.  Presently, DNR does not have a position - either pro or con - in regard to tagging and the possible benefits thereof.  President Mayer discussed this matter with Dan Rankin.

President Mayer reported that our contact at Duke Power is Hugh Barwick, who appears to be sincerely interested in working with us.  Our contact at DNR, Dan Rankin, has discussed asking us to collect certain basic data concerning fish caught.  Matt McCreery has volunteered to accumulate this data.

President Mayer reported on several policies adopted by the Board of Directors.  These included the following:

(1)        Members may bring guests to club meetings provided they notify the club of the number of guests expected.  Guests, of course, will not be allowed to vote.

(2)        Upon joining, a new member will receive access to the Club Forum and membership card, t-shirt and decal.

(3)        Renewal memberships will receive only membership card, but can purchase additional promotional items.

(4)        Membership year will begin May 1st and end April 30th.

(5)        There will be no family package memberships.

(6)        Individuals or others who share our interests and are willing to link our website to theirs will be linked on our website and will be referred to as FRIENDS OF JOCASSEE.

(7)        Associate Members are individuals or companies who pay at least One Hundred Dollars per year in cash, goods or services.  These will be listed with a short advertising blurb on our website.

President Mayer demonstrated a simple live bait technique.

The next meeting is scheduled for July 26, 2005.  Matt McCreery will locate a place nearer to Lake Jocassee and post a meeting place.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned and a meal enjoyed by all.

                                                Respectfully submitted,

                                                James C. Williams, Jr., Secretary
